In my effort to be more healthy, I started reading up on eating right, exercises and detox. The articles I’ve read are amazing and helped me a lot. This site is about those articles and how they’ve helped me. You should look at them too!
Has there ever been a time when your house was so cluttered with things you no longer need, that you just want to throw everything away? Well, to detox is almost the same way. In fact, Dr. Linda Page, ND, PhD and author or the book Detoxification, refers to it as spring cleansing. When you detoxify, you are helping your liver, colon, and your stomach, among other organs to function better. After you detox, you will feel recharged, rejuvenated and renewed.
There is a long list of reasons why you should detoxify. Some of those reasons are when you are always tired or frequently having digestive problems, when you need to lose weight either for aesthetics or health reasons or simply when you realize that you’ve never cleaned up your body before.
Again, just like when your house if full of things that you don’t really need, instead of it being a place to relax, it becomes your place of torture when everywhere you turn, there is something that you need to fix or something you need to clean. You cannot seem to find a place to truly be at peace and your house stops functioning the way it is supposed to be – a place for you to rest. For your body, when you have too much toxins or unnecessary waste in it, it becomes a problem for you too. You get a lot of allergies and rashes, you have recurring digestion problems or you are always feeling weak and tired. In short, your body stops functioning the way it is supposed to. When you detox, you give your body a recharge and a restart, so your body will start to function better and be better able to fight diseases and infections.
Another reason to detox and one that is most common is to lose weight. When your body is overloaded, it is not able to burn the fats that it should be burning. So, you will notice that even if you exercise with a vengeance, your body still does not seem to want to let go of the excess fat. That is because your body is simply not able to do so. There is too much garbage going around that there is just no room to work and burn those loathsome fats and oils. When you detox, you get rid of the toxins and you increase your metabolism.
Finally, as you are reading this article, think to yourself when the last time you went on detox? If the answer is never, then the right time to start is now. There are a lot of detox strategies that you can choose from and it can be painless and not at all uncomfortable for you if you are able to choose the best detox strategy for what you plan to achieve or for your body type. Just like an Audi a4 that has not gotten an oil change after more than 10,000 miles, it may still run great, but it will not be at its peak performance. The same is true for your body when you do not detox. You may still be able to run marathons or play several games of tennis, but your body will not be at its optimum performance because you have not allowed it to totally rest and rejuvenate itself.
